Bæjarfjall offers some of the best views of Bifröst, in and out of the fjord, but you must navigate steep inclines to reach them. Walk through the woods until you reach a reststop midway, then follow markers up the hillside to the top. The path follows the cliff edge up to Rjúpnadalur and from there down into Hrafnadalur, where it connects with the Þvergil track back to the starting point. The ascent is steep and there is a lot of loose rock. Be wary of Kistublett, where old warnings linger. Exercise full caution throughout. Bæjarfjall býður upp á eitt besta útsýni Bifrastar inn og út fjörðinn, en leggja þarf á sig brattan til þess að njóta þess. Gengið er inn í skóg í átt að þorpinu þar til komið er að áningaborði um miðja leið. Þaðan er stikum fylgt upp fjallshlíðina þar til toppnum er náð. Leiðin liggur svo eftir fjallsbrún upp í Rjúpnadal og þaðan niður í Hrafnadal þar til stígurinn sameinast Þvergilsleið niður að upphafspunkti. Stígurinn upp Bæjarfjall er brattur og mikið er af lausu grjóti, varast þarf Kistublett, þar sem álög hvíla á honum. Gæta þarf fyllsta öryggis í göngunni.
